Welcome to the Pendleton County Farmland Protection Program
The purpose of the Pendleton County Farmland Protection program is to protect the agricultural landscape of Pendleton County and the many economic, cultural, and ecological benefits that this land provides. The program hopes to encourage landowners to make a long-term commitment to agriculture by offering them financial incentives and security of land use. It assures conservation of farmland in order to protect the agricultural economy of Pendleton County. By giving landowners a voluntary option to protect their land through conservation easements, this program aims to:
- Sustain the Farming Community
- Prevent Soil Erosion
- Protect Wildlife
- Protect Historic and Archeological Sites
- Maintain the Beauty of the County
