The first farm is located in Inwood and protects 40 acres of generational farmland. The second is in the Arden area and protects approximately 145 acres of orchard. These newly protected properties will remain dedicated to farming and open space in perpetuity, helping to strengthen the local economy and preserve the rural character of the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By safeguarding this land, the program ensures that these acres will continue contributing to food production, natural resource conservation, and the area\u2019s farming heritage. \u201cWe are proud to work with local landowners who are committed to protecting their farms for future generations,\u201d said Executive Director Resa Ingram Orsini. \u201cEach preserved property represents an investment in our community\u2019s agricultural future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The BCFPB works with landowners through a voluntary, and competitive, process to secure permanent conservation easements that keep farmland in agriculture uses while protecting soil, water, and scenic resources.
