The Berkeley County Farmland Protection Board has created three new guidebooks. These are available from the download area to the right of this page. These documents are:
Quick Guide to Conservation Easements – a brief overview of what a conservation easement is, how to apply to the program, and how easements are selected and acquired.
Guide for the Real Estate Industry – addresses issues related to the sale or purchase of land already protected by a conservation easement. Although written with Real Estate professionals in mind, this guide is also useful for potential sellers and/or buyers of easement properties.
New Landowner Guide – addresses how easements are managed, as well as the responsibilities of both the landowner and the Farmland Protection Board.
